Who Invented the Digital Camera? History Of Digital Camera - Steven J. Sasson- Steven J. Sasson was born on July 4, 1950. He is an American man who grew up in Brooklyn, New York, and now has a profession as an expert in electronics and the inventor of the world's first digital camera, a digital camera. The inventor of this digital camera is an alumnus of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and graduated with a degree in electrical engineering.
History Of Digital Camera
In 1975 Steven J. Sasson succeeded in creating a digital camera, and his findings are recorded in the history of the world as the inventor of the first digital camera technology. Although in 1972, Texas Instruments Inc. has designed an electronic camera that does not require film. However, the electronic camera created by Texas Instruments Inc. is not a digital camera. Sasson himself initially got the assignment from his supervisor at Eastman Kodak Company, Gareth A Lloyd, to create an electronic camera using a charger or Charger Coupled Device (CCD).
Sasson's search for references to electronic cameras using the CCD system did not work, eventually turning his attention to existing materials such as analog to digital converters adapted from Motorola companies, Kodak lens lens cameras and mini-CCD chips. Mini CCD chips were introduced in 1973 by Fairchild Semiconductor.
His dedication to work made him more energetic, so he tried to fulfill the task his supervisor had given him at Eastman Kodak Company and did his best to find an electronic camera using CCD. From the materials available and selected by Sasson, the inventor of the first digital camera made a new digital circuit. The new digital circuitry was built using guidance from oscilloscope measurements. From the digital circuitry, was born a prototype digital camera. The process of making the digital camera lasted until December 1975.
Still in December 1975, Sasson, assisted by his chief technician, persuaded the laboratory assistant to pose for them in order to try the findings of the man from the United States. After successfully capturing the image of the laboratory assistant with his camera, the inventor of the first digital camera examined the black-and-white image. Successful black and white images enshrined in the camera have a resolution of 0.01 megapixels or the equivalent of 10,000 pixels. It takes about 23 seconds to transfer the image to a digital cassette, then it takes 23 more seconds to be read by the playback unit until finally the expected image appears on the television screen.
Since then, Sasson has continued to develop his inventions until he successfully fulfills the duties of his supervisor and then sets a record in history as the inventor of the world's first digital camera. No wonder he got a lot of appreciation for his invention. Sasson discovery was very useful for all of us who expect technology that can provide instant results and the maximum as in today.
On November 17, 2009, Sasson was awarded a direct award by the President of the United States, Barrack Obama, during a ceremony in the East Room, White House, was held. The award given to Sasson is The National Medal of Technology and Innovation. The award is the highest award for scientists, engineers and inventors.
Another award earned by the inventor of this first digital camera is the Progress and Honorary Fellowship medal awarded by The Royal Photographic Society on September 6, 2012. The award is given for Sasson's service in finding something related to the art of photography. It is clear that the inventor of the world's first digital camera is a success for the growing discovery of the current technological literacy era.
